HEY DAD....

"Hey Dad, What Cha Doing"?
I have the most amazing conversations with my dad while running.
I am wrapped up in his sweatshirt to keep the cold out
and his LOVE in!
Miss you lots, Dad!

Wear his sweatshirt to keep the cold out. You don't need it to keep his love in...it completely envelops you, forever.

Happy memories will sustain you through this difficult period. Hold on.

I have a small keepsake urn tucked under some greenery in a basket atop shelves in the livin' room.

I dust every mornin' after Farm Boy leaves for work and have a little chat too.

It's been just over a year now. Funny what we do, hug???

God bless ya and have an incredible day!

We had a bench put under the tree by my Mom's grave. When I am home I go there to talk with her all the time. I know she is not there, I know her spirit is in heaven, but for me it is a quiet place to sit and think and as I talk to her work out some of the things going on in my life, the good and the bad. I totally understand your conversations with your Dad while you are running, you just keep having them. BLess You.

How wonderful to wear his sweatshirt. I have some of my Grandma's clothes...wore one of her old gowns last night! Makes me feel so close to her and she has been gone since December, '06.
Keeps you warm in more than one way. xo, Cheryl

I'm glad you enjoy the conversations and the warm hugs. I have lots of conversations with my mom - and even those conversations held in silence bring me great comfort and insight.

That is so awesome that you have a sweatshirt of his. When it wears out, you should make a pillow out of it or something.
I'm pretty sure he hears you and knows how much you love him.

I apologize for not being around in awhile, and, OMG, what a time for you. I'm sorry, sooo sorry! The loss of a parent is a pain beyond words. Run - hold that sweatshirt - flood your senses so the tears can dry and the smiles of remembrance will be wider. Hugs!

I am so happy you are enjoying your alone time with thoughts of your Dad. Some of my most memorable conversations these days are the ones in my bush surrounded by trees, birds and the sound of water talking to my Dad who I know has always been listening.Sometimes if I really concentrate I can still hear his advice. They are always with you and he likes those times too. Enjoy. B

Sweet friend. I haven't been making my rounds as usual, what with the busy time of year and all. I read this post, about talking to your Dad. Oh my how I relate. I lost my darling Dad 8 years ago, right before the holidays. I am an only girl of 5. My father and I were very, very close. He called me Mouse. He got me mice all the time. When he passed, I brought home his sweatshirt that night. I slept in it. I kept it hung by my door, and wore it all the time. I am an outdoor enthusiast, and I used to tell my Mom, that I had such nice talks with Dad when I was outdoors in my gardens, wearing his sweatshirt. I still wear it. A lot. It has now been washed, and the scent of him no longer lingers. But I feel him. Every day. In my heart.
God Bless you and your Daddy.
Kris
